Pulp Pix: Photography Noir
This American Museum of Photography exhibit begins with a strange story about a mysterious woman named Laurelle, who forces the narrator to buy her collection of pulp pix. The "pulp pix" are photos taken to illustrate cheap paperback books and sleazy magazines full of detective stories and shocking crimes.
The photos in the exhibit are black and white, usually featuring women in a state of vulnerability. Click on different parts of the pictures to learn more clues, and pay attention to details (is that man in the background holding a weapon?). These are mysteries, divided into chapters, so read on to learn the truth behind the photos in an exciting conclusion.
