The Caldecott Medal
was named in honor of 19th century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott.
The Association for Library Service to Children annually presents the award to the
artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
The 2008 Caldecott Medal winner is "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by Brian Selznick
