Mu Alpha Theta Award Winners
Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, has accumulated more than 75,000 members in more than 1,500 schools. Created in 1957, the mission of Mu Alpha Theta is to support young students in their mathematical studies and encourage schools to reward students who succeed in math. In 1993, the Society decided to sponsor the Mu Alpha Theta Award at regional and international Science Fairs. Mu Alpha Theta also contributes a $1,000 prize every year at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. The award is given to high school students who use math to show an original and innovative exploration of a question.
